Christian Perez won two Asian Tour titles in Singapore last weekend, as Motomu Sakai remained top of the rankings by claiming his second event of 2026.
Following events in the Mongolian capital in May, the 2026 PDC Asian Tour continued in Singapore, hosting events over the weekend.
Sakai returned to the winner’s enclosure with Event 17 success after a disappointing World Cup of Darts campaign in Frankfurt, where, alongside Haruki Murumatsu, Japan failed to make it out of the group stage.
His standout performance came in the last 32 with a 4-1 win over Qingyu Zhan, averaging over 102 while hitting two 14 dart legs.
The Japanese star’s average remained steady from the quarter-finals onwards, with three averages over ninety on his route to the title.
He dispatched fellow countryman Ryusei Azemoto in the last eight and then went on to defeat Rolly Gabiana and finally Lok Yin-Lee in the showpiece.
Despite a good weekend for Sakai, it was very much Christian Perez who was the standout player as he claimed two titles in Singapore across the four events to move up to second in the rankings.
In Event 18, Perez was impressive in beating previous winner Sakai in the semi-finals with an average in excess of 102.
In the final, the 44-year-old was dominant against a weak Alexis Toylo, thrashing the two-time Asian Tour champion 5-1 to claim his first title of the year on the circuit.
On Sunday, he followed up his victory with Event 19 success to claim back-to-back titles in Singapore.
The former PDC Asian Champion emerged victorious over Toylo once again with a 5-1 victory in the final, defying a 97.06 average from his opponent.
On the way to victory, Perez also claimed victory over the likes of World Cup star Man-Lok Leung, Singaporean veteran Paul Lim and two-time PDC Asian Champion Lourence Ilagan.
Nevertheless, Ilagan was the man to clinch the 20th event, coming back from 4-2 down against his former World Cup partner Paolo Nebrida.
Ilagan won three straight legs to triumph against Nebrida in a dramatic final, and subsequently sits in ninth position despite missing out on eight of the 20 events so far this year.
The Filipino, who made his seventh appearance at Alexandre Palace this year, dispatched Japanese pair Yuya Fukuchi and Muramatsu to claim his first title of 2026.
