Ian Holt birdied the final hole to claim the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic golf championships title.
He made a two-putt birdie on the par-5 18th hole for a 1-under 71 for a one-shot victory over two players making a late surge. Going into the final round atop the leaderboard, Holt finished 12-under with a 276 total.
Justin Hastings of the Cayman Islands, who won the Latin America Amateur Championship a year ago to get into three majors, had a 69 and tied for second with Alistair Docherty (66).
A struggling Holt countered five bogeys – at the 4th, 9th, 10th, 13th and 14th holes, with six birdies on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 12th and 18th.
“I would say, rolling in that putt on 17 was a big moment. Then I was kind of on the schneid there for a little bit making the turn and making that 10-, 12-footer on 12 for birdie kind of got me back into things. And then that iron shot on 18 was all I could have asked for,” said Holt.
It was his first Korn Ferry Tour title in his 45th career start on Tour; his previous career-high finish on Tour was T2 at the Argentina Open last year.
“I know it’s only been two events, but it’s just been to not panic, not try to play defensive, just make pars. Like let’s go out and try and make a couple birdies coming in and see what happens. Made a good two-putt on 17 and that kind of got me back into it on that tee shot. The rest is history, I
guess,” added Holt.
Docherty closed in 6-under 66, the lowest score of the final round by two strokes, and matched his career-high finish on the Tour.
Hastings, the reigning Latin America Amateur Champion, finishes with four consecutive pars following a double bogey at the par-5 14th, securing a runner-up finish in his third career start on the Tour.
Barend Botha, who finished T22 at the 2026 season-opening The Bahamas Golf Classic, recorded his third top-10 in his last four Korn Ferry Tour starts.
Eighteen-year-old Blades Brown, who earned full status for the 2026 season with a No. 68 finish on the the Tour Points List, closed in even-par 72 for his second top-25 in his last three starts.
