A brilliant round of 63 sees David Toms heading into the final round of the Chubb Classic in Naples with a three-stroke lead.
He carded the low round of the day to follow up with his first round of 67 to finish on 14-under at the Tiburón Golf Club. The round of 63 equalled the club record that puts him in the company of Fred Couples (2021/R1), Alex Cejka (2023/R3) and Rocco Mediate (2024/R1).
The 59-year-old seeks his fifth win on PGA TOUR Champions, with his last win coming at the 2023 Galleri Classic. Toms had finished T20 at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai last month.
Over night co-leader is on 11-under after a solid round of 68, to follow up with his opening round of 65. The 51-year-old Australian seeks his first win on PGA Tour.
Overnight co-leader Darren Clarke is at T26 after blowing up with a 76, which included a triple bogey on No. 13 and a double bogey on No. 17.
Defending champion Justin Leonard if tied third after he carded 68 and sits four strokes back entering the final round. He looks to become the fourth player to win the Chubb Classic in back-to-back, joining Lee Trevino (1990-91), Mike Hill (1993-94) and Bernhard Langer (2022-23).
Should he win on Sunday, he would become the first player on PGA Tour Champions to successfully defend a title since Stewart Cink (2025 Ally Challenge).
Leonard is tied with Ricardo Gonzalez after the latter posted 68 and sits 10-under. The 56-year-old Argentine is seeking his second win on the PGA Tour Champions. His last victory came at the 2024 Trophy Hassan II.
