The Thai Jet Ski Association is confident in hosting the SEA Games at Jomtien Beach, Pattaya, Chonburi Province generating massive revenue for the country, boosting sales for local vendors, and using the same model as the World Series.
Pol. Gen. Dechnarong Sutthicharnbancha, President of the Jet Ski Association of Thailand, spoke about boosting the excitement for jet ski competitions at the 33rd SEA Games, which Thailand will host this December.
The jet ski competition will be held at Jomtien Beach, Pattaya, Chonburi Province, the same venue as the 2025 Jet Ski World Series and WGP#1 WATERJET WORLD CUP AND WGP#1 WORLD SERIES ROUND-3, the final round of the world championship.
The highlight is that the SEA Games jet ski competition will take place first, followed closely by the WGP#1 event, creating back-to-back major tournaments. The plan is to turn the period into a festival featuring entertainment, fairs, and mini-concerts to make the SEA Games and WGP#1 events more exciting, colorful, and attractive, drawing crowds to watch, cheer, and participate in activities.
Pol. Gen. Dechnarong added that the thrilling format of jet ski competitions combined with entertainment activities will generate significant income for the local community, with substantial cash flow during the SEA Games period and continuing into the World Series.
Data collected last year by the National Sports University from the World Series event held at Jomtien Beach showed that during the 10-plus days of competition, over 650 million baht circulated, benefiting the Thai economy. He emphasized that organizing the jet ski event should also focus on the benefits for the local community.
Past competitions have shown that local vendors increased their income by thousands of baht per day. He expressed confidence that the SEA Games jet ski competition will recreate this vibrant atmosphere and bring positive economic impact to the community once again.
Thailand won four of the six gold medals at stake at the last Games in Cambodia in 2023.
