Margot Morokot Garabedian
Cambodia will begin their campaign at the Sanya Asian Beach Games tomorrow in the jiu-jitsu and aquathlon competitions.
SEA Games champion Margot Morokot Garabedian and Phal Sreyphpoung will be competing in the women’s aquathlon.
Margot, who won the aquathlon as well as the triathlon events at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. Margot is a former world champion in the event, having represented France when she bagged the world crown in 2021.
A total of 28 athletes will be in action in the women’s aquathlon competition including China’s Lin Xinyu and Lu Meiyi. Hong Kong’s Briana Bailee Brown is another elite runner in the field.
Meanwhile, Operana Kaimoni Richhavath will be the sole Cambodian in action in the jiu jitsu competition tomorrow in the men’s -62kg.
Cambodia other representatives at the Asian Beach Games include Hour Senghong (men’s jiu jitsu -69kg), Sao Sopheara men’s jiu jitsu -69kg), Moeun Lim Sopanha (men’s jiu jitsu -77kg), Bun Thuonvireak-Dy Koemyean (teqball mixed doubles), Mey Sreymeas-Yorn Sophornraksmey (teqball women’s doubles), Nak Ratna-Soun Ravi (teqball men’s doubles).
In Beach wrestling, Cambodia will be represented by Chhoeun Chheang (men’s 70kg), Heng Rottha (men’s 80kg), Heng Vuthy (men’s 90kg), Dit Samnang (women’s 50kg), Chhoeun Sreylen (women’s 60kg) and Chea Kanha (women’s 70kg).
