It was not his best round of golf this week, but Justin Rose still did enough to win the Farmers Insurance Open in record breaking style.
The 45-year-old Rose became the first wire-to-wire winner of the Farmers since Tommy Bolt in 1955, finishing at 23-under 265 for the week, a tournament scoring record.
He carded a 2-under 70 in his final round to finish seven strokes ahead of the trio of Pierceson Coody, Ki Si Woo and Ryo Hisatsune. Rose was in impeccable form in the first three days carding rounds of 62-65-68.
The seven-stroke margin is the largest margin of victory at the event since Tiger Woods in 2008, who won it by eight strokes.
The victory sees him move from 10th spot to third in the Official World Golf Ranking, becoming the second-oldest player in the top-three history after Vijay Singh.
The 13th Tour title also sees him join an illustrious company. He is now the ninth player to have 13 Tour victories or more including a FedExCup title. The others in the list are Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Scottie Scheffler, Jim Furyk, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.
He also becomes the the oldest wire-to-wire winner on Tour since Rocco Mediate, who also led all the way to win the 2010 Procore Championship at 47 years of age. Rose is also the first wire-to-wire winner on Tour since World number one Scottie Scheffler at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson last year.
In his final round on Sunday, Rose made a clutch par save on 4. Then on the par-5 sixth, he missed the eagle putt for a birdie. He also carded birdies on the eighth and ninth to turn in 3-under 33 and two shots ahead of the tournament scoring record. Rose added a bogey on the 12th Hole
With a 7-under 65, the low round of the day, Coody collected his second runner-up in his 56th start on the Tour since 2024.
Meanwhile, making his ninth start at the event, four-time PGA Tour winner Si Woo also earned his best finish since the 2023 and his second consecutive top-10 of the season. He had finished T6 at the American Express earlier this month.
It was also the best result for Hisatsune in his 65th start on the Tour, having finished T3 at the Wyndham Championship two years ago.
Making his first start in a non-major on the PGA TOUR since the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play via the Returning Member Program, nine-time TOUR winner Brooks Koepka finished T56.
