Cambodia bounced back from their defeat to Thailand at the IWBF Asia Oceania Wheelchair Basketball Championships with a comprehensive win over Philippines.
The national side carved out a lop-sided 63-14 win over the Filipinas in their Division 2 match at the Centara Life Government Complex and Convention Centre in Bangkok.
The win, however, may still not be enough for Cambodia to qualify for the semi-finals. Unbeaten Thailand are expected to clinch the solitary spot from the division to join Australia, China and Japan in the last four.
The win against the Philippines was expected although the scoreline turned out to be huge.
Unlike the previous matches, where Sinet An top scored for the side, this time it was Savry Lak who picked up 27 points. Sinet finished with 12 points while Da Soem also notched up double digits, scoring 10 points.
No Filipino player managed to notch up double digits, with Patricia Camille Castro picking up nine points.
Cambodia made 40% of their shots while Philippines a mere 13%.
The national side led 12-3 in the first quarter and by 26-8 at halftime. The five points Cambodia conceded in the second quarter was the most the side conceded in the four quarters. They led 45-12 in the third quarter before wrapping up the match with a 49 point margin.
Cambodia wrap up their campaign against bottom placed India tomorrow.
