Germany closed the final day of the Karate One Youth League in Harare by winning three of the 11 titles at stake.
For the first time, a stage of the Karate One Youth League was held in Africa, and over several days, the tournament brought together some of the best young karate athletes from all over the world competing in Africa. The event also highlighted the growing strength of youth karate, especially across the African continent.
Hannah Biedemann takes Cadet Kata Female title
Hannah Biedemann of Germany won the Cadet Kata Female gold medal after defeating Greta Biedemann of Germany by a clear 5–0 decision. Hannah controlled the final from the start with sharp technique and strong timing.
Chris Kgosi wins U14 Kata Male
Botswana celebrated a major victory through Chris Kgosi. He defeated Bradley Kagoro of Zimbabwe 5–0 in the U14 Kata Male final. Kgosi delivered a confident performance and secured one of the host continent’s most notable wins of the day.
Isabella Chitharai triumphs in U14 Kata Female
Isabella Chitharai of South Africa won the U14 Kata Female category. She beat Elizabeth Maganga of Zimbabwe 5–0 with a clean and precise routine that earned the support from the judges.
Hanna Olschewski claims Cadet Kumite Female -54 kg
Germany added another gold medal when Hanna Olschewski defeated Kinga Magdalena Jelinska of Latvia 6–1 in the Cadet Kumite Female -54 kg final. Olschewski controlled the bout with quick attacks and solid defence.
Adam Ghazouani edges Cadet Kumite Male -52 kg
The Cadet Kumite Male -52 kg final was the tightest fight of the day. Adam Ghazouani of Belgium secured a narrow 1–0 win against Leonardo Mateus Gomes of Switzerland.
Valentino Yael Lavado Rojas wins Cadet Kumite Male -70 kg
Valentino Yael Lavado Rojas of Peru claimed the Cadet Kumite Male -70 kg title. He defeated Chinedu Okpugo of South Africa 5–2 in a fast-paced match that featured strong exchanges from both fighters.
Raahi Ramchunder tops Cadet Kumite Male -63 kg
South Africa celebrated another victory through Raahi Ramchunder. He beat fellow South African Dylan Seyffert 4–2 in the Cadet Kumite Male -63 kg final, finishing the match with a composed performance.
Anna Satter wins Dutch showdown in U14 Kumite Female -47 kg
Anna Satter of the Netherlands took gold after defeating Sara Satter of the Netherlands 2–1. The closely fought final between the two Dutch athletes was decided by a single point.
Roberto Mario Guglielmetti Hernández dominates U14 Kumite Male -45 kg
Italy’s Roberto Mario Guglielmetti Hernández delivered one of the most one-sided victories of the finals. He beat Shayne Manyathela of Zimbabwe 6–0 to secure the U14 Kumite Male -45 kg gold medal.
Valentina Grüner takes U14 Kumite Female -52 kg
Valentina Grüner of Germany won the U14 Kumite Female -52 kg category with a strong 7–0 victory over Frieda Hoerner of Germany. Grüner controlled the match from the beginning
Mathias Miguel Borjas Silva wins U14 Kumite Male +45 kg
Peru finished the day with another gold medal thanks to Mathias Miguel Borjas Silva. He defeated London-James Howard of England 5–0 in the U14 Kumite Male +45 kg final.
