Margot Lambert-Camille Pognante
The pairing of Margot Lambert-Camille Pognante became the first women’s pair from France to win a BWF World Tour Super 500 event.
The duo, who had stunned HYLO Open 2025 top seeds Gabriela-Stefani Stoeva in the quarter-finals, packed off second seeds Hsu Yin-hui-Lin Jhih Yun of Chinese Taipei 21-16, 21-10 in the final.
Their breakthrough adds another feather to the nation’s badminton cap, following recent standout performances from mixed pair Thom Gicquel-Delphine Delrue and men’s singles talents Alex Lanier, Christo Popov and Arnaud Merkle.
“We played with good energy and good speed,” Camille said after the match. Margot added: “I love this hall, we create good memories here. The crowd is always rooting for us.”
In women’s singles Mia Blichfeldt defended her crown, this time at a higher stage, as the tournament has upgraded from Super 300 to Super 500.
She toppled top seed Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia 21-11, 7-21, 21-12 for a well deserved title.
It is the Dane’s first Super 500 title after a month where she has had one of the best runs of her career.
“I’m really really happy and overwhelmed,” Mia said. “I had a tough start this year with the shoulder injury, but I have been working very hard to come back. The team around me in France has really been keeping me in shape and mentally ready.”
Indonesian independent player, Jonatan Christie powered to his third tournament victory of the season with a dominant 21-14, 21-14 win over Denmark’s Magnus Johannesen in the men’s final.
Christie has been in fine form in recent months, with title victories at the Korea Open and Denmark Open in September and October.
Johannesen stepped onto the court for his first Super 500 final of his career following a 21-13, 21-13 win over Finland’s Kalle Koljonen in their semi-final.
In mixed doubles it is a real comeback story. Danes Mathias Christiansen-Alexandre Boje overcame a shaky first game to beat second seeded French pair Thom Gicquel-Delphine Delrue 23-21, 21-15
Christiansen-Boje took another huge step only months after returning to the circuit as a new pair. They won a Super 300 at the Indonesian Masters in their first tournament back. Now they have a Super 500 title.
