Powerhouses China grabbed four titles at the German Open badminton championships on a day that saw Christo Popov claiming the bragging rights over his brother Toma Junior Popov.
Christo, the BWF Tour Finals champion, eased to a 21-16, 21-16 win over Toma Junior to claim the men’s singles title.
He had also won the title in 2024, the same year he defeated his brother for the Hylo Open crown.
The victory would put the French star in good stead as he turns his attention to the prestigious All England championships this week.
Christo had also helped France win a landmark European team title earlier this year.
In the women’s singles Han Qianxi stunned her more illustrious teammate Wang Zhiyi 21-19, 22-20 for her first Super 300 crown. Qianxi’s only other victory on the circuit was at the China Masters, a BWF 100 event, two years ago.
