Cambodia fell to a seventh straight defeat in their ongoing T20i international cricket series against Indonesia at the Udayana Cricket Grounds in Bali.
Opener Agush Priandana’s 78 off 50 balls helped steer Indonesia to a comfortable six wicket win after being set a 150 runs chase by Cambodia.
Opting to bat first, Cambodia had a solid but tentative start before Marcelle Hanekom was shown the exit in the eighth over. Hanekom had contributed for 31 of the 58 runs for Cambodia at the stage.
Luqman Butt was sent in to bat alongside opener Shah Abrar Hussain. But top-scored for Cambodia with 35 runs, to take the visitors to 102 runs before being caught. Shah followed suit two overs later, contributing 30 runs to see Cambodia at 113-3.
Wicketkeeper Muhammad Naeem contributed for 18 runs while the pair of Etienne Beukes (1) and Gulam Chugtai (13) batted out the remaining overs.
Indonesia lost Julang Dzulfikar, who scored 10 runs off 9 balls, at 30-1 in the third over and Anjar Tadarus in the next over, after he added only four runs. In quick succession Cambodia bowled out Vineet Shah in the sixth over and Indonesia were reeling at 49-3.
But Agush’s steady partnership with Kadek Gamantika, brought the Indonesian’s closer to yet another victory. Kadek contributed for 36 runs before he was bowled out but with Agush still standing and Gede Arta contributing 5 runs, it was another victory for the Indonesians.
Cambodia have one more match against the Indonesians tomorrow and must win to avoid a 0-8 whitewash.
