Brazil successfully defended their title at the Wuxi 2025 World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships, defeating Korea in the final.
The Brazilian team included newly crowned world champions in the Men’s -80kg weight category in Henrique Marques Rodrigues Fernandes and the Women’s -57kg in Maria Clara Pacheco, along with Wuxi 2025 World Taekwondo Championships silver medallists Edival Pontes and Milena Titoneli.
Nivea Barros and Paulo Melo completed a star-studded team, which added to the World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships gold they won last year.
Brazil overcame Korea in the final, with Hanna Lee, Seung Ju Oh, Hyo Rim Hong, Sang Ryeol Lee, Jin Wook Lee and Hyun Woo Kim earning silver for their team.
They had earlier beaten Kazakhstan and top seeds Uzbekistan en route to the final, while Korea saw off World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships debutants Peru and hosts China.
China completed the podium with victory against Uzbekistan for bronze.
Their team included World Taekwondo Championships silver medallist in the Men’s -80kg Qizhang Xiang, along with Zhaoxun Cai, Lixingjun Diao, Shunan Xiao, Chengyi Wang and Jingqi Zhu.
A total of 34 athletes from the six participating countries competed at the Wuxi 2025 World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships.
