Cambodia picked up their first win at the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Qualifiers Group C tie. They gunned down wooden spoonist Macau 11-2.
However, the win was too late to ensure their automatic qualification, having lost 0-5 to Japan, and 1-7 to Tajikistan in their previous two matches.
Japan came from behind to defeat Tajikistan 3-1 in their tie to secure their spot in the group to the AFC Futsal Asian Cup in Indonesia next year.
Cambodia broke the deadlock in the seventh minute with a breakaway goal from Chen Sovanhang before Leong Kei In’s intended clearance hit Chuop Seyha and landed in the net to double the Southeast Asian side’s advantage four minutes later.
Sovanhang got his second in the 15th minute with Cambodia extending their lead a minute later through an individual effort from Danyth Saray.
Cambodia took their control into the second half with further goals from Keo Cheatuo (23rd, 40th), Keo Sochetra (24th), Ros Simchamroeun (25th), Seyha (33rd, 39th) and Ros Sirotha (40th) with Macau scoring consolation goals through Leong Hou In (32nd) and Fong Chi Wa (35th).
