Asian rivals India and Pakistan have been drawn in the dame group for the The FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium and Netherlands 2026 to be held in Amsterdam and Wavre from 15 to 30 August 2026.
The two nations have been drawn in Pool D of the men’s competition at the draw ceremony held yesterday. Also in the group are England and Wales.
World No. 4 England the highest-ranked side. India are ranked eighth, while Pakistan sit 12th and Wales 16th.
India’s last match against Pakistan came during the 2024 Asian Champions Trophy, which it won 2-1. The two sides will also clash in the FIH Pro League prior to the anticipated clash at the World Cup.
Defending champions Germany, who won their third World Cup title in 2023 in Bhubaneswar by beating Belgium, have been placed in Pool B along with Belgium, France and Malaysia.
