American Akshay Bhatia fired a bogey-free, 8-under-par 64 at Spyglass Hill Golf Course to reach 15-under 129 and tie Japan\u2019s Ryo Hisatsune for the lead at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hisatsune the solo overnight leader, with a flawless 62 first round at Pebble Beach Golf Links, carded 67 at Spyglass Hill that featured his first two bogeys of the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhatia, looking for his third PGA Tour title, carded a bogey-free 64, highlighted by an eagle on No. 14. This is his fourth start this season with a best of T3 at the Phoenix Open. Hisatsune was also playing in Phoenix but settled for a T10. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hisatsune finished T2 at the Farmers Insurance Open last month and is seeking to become only the sixth different player from Japan to win on the PGA Tour after Hideki Matsuyama, Shigeki Maruyama, Isao Aoki, Ryuji Imada and Satoshi Kodaira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As play wound down Friday afternoon, Scottie Scheffler was tied for 34th at 6 under. He followed a pedestrian 72 at Pebble with a 6-under 66 at Spyglass, featuring a five-hole stretch on his second nine with three birdies and an eagle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Defending champion Rory McIlroy birdied the final hole to sign for a 67 but sits six strokes off tied-17th with a nine-under total together with FedExCup leader Chris Gotterup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
McIlroy made five birdies and an eagle but was left to rue bogeys on the 10th and 14th,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is further back at T34 at six-under. Scheffler fired three birdies and an eagle on a five-hole stretch after the turn to reach the clubhouse at six under across the first two days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
