Korea is one of the few teams in the competition that chose to field their best players in the biennial competition and it paid dividends.

It was a comprehensive win for the Koreans, who picked up the first point through Se-young, the reigning BWF Super Series Finals champion. The world number took 39-minutes to dismantle Han Qianxi 21-7, 21-14.

The gap between the world No. 1 and No. 38 was evident throughout the match. After a 4-4 tie early in the first game, An Se-young reeled off an impressive 10 consecutive points to quickly take control, finishing the game with a large margin of 21-7.

The second game was tighter and the score was tied at 11-11, before Se-young re-established her dominance to lead 15-14. She then reeled off a six-point run to close out the match.

The Korean scratch pair of Baek Ha-na-Kim Hye-jeong put the Koreans 2-0 up when they overcame a first game resistance and defeated Jia Yifan-Zhang Shuxian 24-22, 21-8.

Ha-na’s regular partner is Lee So-hee, with whom she won the BWF World Tour Finals last December. As for Hye-jeong her regular partner is Kong Hee-yong.

The Korean pair started off strongly in the first game, leading by as many as six point in the early stages. But their Chinese rivals responded at the closing stages to level at 18-18., The two pairs were locked in a point-for-point battle before Ha-na-Hye-jeong took the game 24-22. The Chinese fightback was quelled and the second game was almost a breeze for the Koreans.

World number 17 Kim Ga-eun clinched the winning point in the second singles. But it was not as easy as it should have been against 127th ranked Xu Wenjing. Wenjing took a close first game but could not stop the Korean lass from winning 19-21, 21-10, 21-17 and sealing the tie.

FINAL RESULT

KOREA BEAT CHINA 3-0 (An Se-young bt Han Qianxi 21-7, 21-14; Baek Ha-na-Kim Hye-jeong bt Jia Yifan-Zhang Shuxian 24-22, 21-8; Kim Ga-eun bt Xu Wenjing 19-21, 21-10, 21-17

Mercurial An Se-young led Korea to their first women’s team title at the Badminton Asia Team Championships in

[7
75
post-9170","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-newsbeat","tag-badminton
["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/An-Se-Young_compressed.jpg",1066,600,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/An-Se-Young_compressed-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/An-Se-Young_compressed-300x169.jpg",300,169,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/An-Se-Young_compressed-768x432.jpg",640,360,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/An-Se-Young_compressed-1024x576.jpg",640,360,true],"1536x1536":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/An-Se-Young_compressed.jpg",1066,600,false],"2048x2048":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/An-Se-Young_compressed.jpg",1066,600,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/An-Se-Young_compressed-825x575.jpg",825,575,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/An-Se-Young_compressed-590x410.jpg",590,410,true
admin
["GET
