With four title successes and two major final appearances under her belt already this campaign, the inevitable next step in Orfi’s career will be a Platinum title, and she looks as well placed as ever to try achieve this feat.

U.S. No.1 Weaver, meanwhile, will be looking to build upon her first Platinum final appearance at the Hong Kong Open and tread new ground in front of her home fans in The Big Apple.

Further back in the seedings, No.5 seed Sivasangari Subramaniam, No.6 seed Watanabe, No.7 seed Tinne Gilis and No.8 seed Fayrouz Aboelkheir will all be capable of springing shocks and gatecrashing the latter stages of the Platinum event.

A number of home interests will be joining Weaver in trying to deliver in front of the New York crowd, with U.S. men’s No.1 Timothy Brownell facing off against No.6 seed Marwan ElShorbagy and men’s Wildcard Dillon Huang taking on No.7 seed Victor Crouin. In the women’s draw, Amanda Sobhy will be featuring in her 12th ToC, while American Laila Sedky has been awarded a Wildcard spot.

Tournament of Champions starting later today in New York will see World No.3 Diego Elias back in action

[7
37
post-8240","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-newsbeat","tag-squash
["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Diego-Elias.jpg",1536,1024,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Diego-Elias-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Diego-Elias-300x200.jpg",300,200,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Diego-Elias-768x512.jpg",640,427,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Diego-Elias-1024x683.jpg",640,427,true],"1536x1536":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Diego-Elias.jpg",1536,1024,false],"2048x2048":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Diego-Elias.jpg",1536,1024,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Diego-Elias-825x575.jpg",825,575,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Diego-Elias-590x410.jpg",590,410,true
admin
["GET
