From today’s match, I believe that Vietnam football is of a great standard.

“I told the players to push more in extra time because I felt we were fitter than the UAE players and I’m thankful the players did exactly that.”

“Physically, we had the edge. In the second half, we sent on (defender) Phi Hoang and we specifically instructed him to deal with the opponents’ crosses and to tightly mark their number two (Mubarak Zamah).

“He carried out those instructions very well, which is why we were able to prevent any further UAE goals .”

“On top of that, their full-backs looked tired so our decision to bring on players with more pace turned out to be very effective as it kept them on the defensive.”

[7
63
post-8059","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-newsbeat","tag-football
["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/VIetnam-winning-goal_compressed.jpg",1704,957,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/VIetnam-winning-goal_compressed-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/VIetnam-winning-goal_compressed-300x168.jpg",300,168,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/VIetnam-winning-goal_compressed-768x431.jpg",640,359,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/VIetnam-winning-goal_compressed-1024x575.jpg",640,359,true],"1536x1536":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/VIetnam-winning-goal_compressed-1536x863.jpg",1536,863,true],"2048x2048":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/VIetnam-winning-goal_compressed.jpg",1704,957,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/VIetnam-winning-goal_compressed-825x575.jpg",825,575,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/VIetnam-winning-goal_compressed-590x410.jpg",590,410,true
admin
["GET
