Malaysia has proposed a slimmed down roster, concentrating on more Olympic and Asian Games sports, for the SEA Games in 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Malaysia SEA Games Organising Committee (MASOC) has proposed 37 sports with an option to include an additional five sports from a list of 17 sports under consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chinlone, which had been a mainstay in the sepak takraw competition, is not in the proposed list and will need to wait for their fate to be decided later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chinlone made its debut at the Games in 2013 before being dropped in 2019. It was included again in at the 2023 Games in Cambodia and was also contested in Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teqball, which made its debut at the Thailand SEA Games is also only under consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several other sports that made their debut or return at the Games last year including kabaddi, woodball, flying disc, MMA and airsports are not even under consideration this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The hosts have also decided to include one winter sports \u2013 Ice Skating while Ice Hockey is under consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Games, scheduled from 18-29 Sept, 2027, will take place in four cities \u2013 Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
