England and New Zealand continued their preparations for the upcoming ICC U19 Men\u2019s Cricket World Cup with warm-up victories over India and Zimbabwe respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
James Minto and Thomas Rew shone as England won a rain-affected clash by 20 runs (DLS) while Hugo Bogue was in serious form with the bat as the Black Caps ran out comfortable 114-run winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are seven more warm-up matches to come across the next two days before the competition begins on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minto and Rew lead England past India<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n James Minto\u2019s five-wicket haul and an unbeaten half-century from Thomas Rew helped England beat India by 20 runs (DLS) in Bulawayo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n India batted first and lost in-form Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for 1, but captain Ayush Mhatre made 49 and wicketkeeper Abhigyan Kundu compiled a fine 82 as India pushed towards 300.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ambrish Sukumar (48) and Kanishk Chouhan (45 not out) also batted well but Minto continually checked India\u2019s progress, ending with five for 34 from eight overs as England were set 296 to win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Joe Moores (46) and Ben Mayes (34) added 77 for the second wicket as England\u2019s reply started well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Captain Rew then struck six fours and three sixes in his unbeaten 71 from 66 balls, joining forces with Caleb Falconer (29 not out) to see his side to 196 for three in the 35th over when rain arrived. Play could not resume and England took the spoils on DLS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bogue on form as New Zealand beat Zimbabwe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Opener Hugo Bogue smashed a rapid century as New Zealand beat Zimbabwe by 114 runs in Masvingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bogue hit 13 fours and seven sixes in his 75-ball 115, combining effectively with skipper Tom Jones (40) to lay the foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n New Zealand were 192 for five when Bogue fell but valuable contributions from Jacob Cotter (54) and Brandon Matzopoulous (43) carried them to 332 all out, with 3.1 overs remaining. Shelton Mazvitorera (3\/56) and Leeroy Chiwaula (2\/26) were the pick of the hosts\u2019 attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Brendon Senzere made an unbeaten 66 in reply but Zimbabwe were never in the hunt after losing early wickets.
