{"id":7483,"date":"2025-12-30T09:20:59","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T02:20:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/?p=7483"},"modified":"2025-12-30T09:21:01","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T02:21:01","slug":"indonesia-down-thailand-for-asean-under-16-futsal-crown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/indonesia-down-thailand-for-asean-under-16-futsal-crown\/","title":{"rendered":"Indonesia down Thailand for ASEAN Under-16 futsal crown"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Indonesia were crowned the inaugural champions of the ASEAN Under-16 Boys\u2019 Futsal Championship 2025 when they beat Thailand 4-3 in an exhilarating final, played at the Nonthaburi Hall in Bangkok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was the reverse in the Under-19 competition, as two second-half goals delivered Thailand the title beating Indonesia 3-1 in the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Under-16 final was a closely fought affair between the two evenly matched sides, with the score tied 2-2 at the break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thailand took the lead through Phuwipadawat Thanawat in the very first minute of play but Indonesia struck back three minutes later with a clean strike from Hetson Messi Hamonangan Sirait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Petchtiam Boonyarit put the Thai\u2019s ahead once again in the 17<sup>th<\/sup> minute only to see Muhammad Faisal Gumilang strike back in the 20<sup>th <\/sup>minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indonesia raised the stakes in the second half when they scored two quick goals, off Muhamad Dafa Ramadan (26<sup>th<\/sup>) and Muhammad Faisal (28<sup>th<\/sup>) for them to take a 4-2 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though Petchtiam managed to slot in the third goal for Thailand in the 38<sup>th<\/sup> minute, it was just a tad too late for the revival as Indonesia stuck it out for the title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"FINAL Thailand VS Indonesia  | Asean U16 Futsal Championship 2025 | Futsal Boys\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/U9_ySGXL6hM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Myanmar finished third, edging out Vietnam 2-1. Myanmar took the lead in the seventh-minute from Nay Lin Phyo and added the second in the 25<sup>th<\/sup> minute through Ye Yint Kaung Khant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bui Gia Bao scored Vietnam\u2019s only goal in the 31<sup>st<\/sup> minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Under-19 final was also tightly contested with the score tied 1-1 at the end of the first half,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poompuchid Huab-Um gave Thailand the lead in the 17<sup>th<\/sup> minute, only for Muhammad Robby Faturrahman to level for Indonesia three minutes later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the break would prove pivotal as Thailand struck twice through Sorrawit Sirisawas in the 21<sup>st<\/sup> minute and Setthawut Srithong (26<sup>th<\/sup>) for the well-deserved win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malaysia finished third beating Vietnam 4-3 in the penalty shootouts, after both teams finished level at 2-2 after extra time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vietnam\u2019s goals were scored by Nguyen Truong Hoang Long (5<sup>th<\/sup>) and Nguyen Thac Hieu (40<sup>th<\/sup>), as Malaysia replied through Iqbal Hazim Radzi (39<sup>th<\/sup>) and Muhammad Aidil Zakwan Zaidi (40<sup>th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the penalty shootouts, Nguyen Thac Hieu missed his attempt to give Malaysia the third spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"FINAL Indonesia VS Thailand| Asean U19 Futsal Championship 2025 | Futsal Boys\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6nb6tW6SC-0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
