In the 14 tournaments she had played this season, she had won 10 titles, including the Australian Open last month, defeating Putri in the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last and only player to have reached the pinnacle in 11 tournaments was Japan\u2019s Kento Momota, who had won 11 titles in a historic season in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, newly crowned SEA Games champion Ratchanok Intanon fell in her opening match, succumbing to a 18-21, 21-14, 10-21 to teammate Pornpawee Chochuwong in her opening Group B match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>World champion Akane Yamaguchi of Japan got off to a wining start as she held of the challenge of younger compatriot Tomoka Miyazaki 21-13 21-13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kodai Naraoka of Japan stunned third seeded Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei 21-17, 21-18 in a Group B men\u2019s singles tie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fourth seeded Anders Antonsen fell to an opening defeat in the Group A men\u2019s singles match-up. Christo Popov of France picked up a hard-earned 21-13, 12-21, 21-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the women\u2019s doubles, Malaysia\u2019s newly crowned SEA Games champions defeated China\u2019s Jia Yi Fan and Zhang Shu Xian for the first time in six matches in their career.
