After taking the opening two games by 11-5 scorelines, ElSherbini rallied from 6-1 down in the third game to move through to the title after just 32 minutes of play.

“It was huge for me last night [winning against Hania],” ElSherbini said after the match. “I was definitely very sore today, but I had my routine and a good warmup today.

“It means a lot to me today. That number [my 45th PSA Tour title] is huge and I never thought I was going to reach it.

“It’s a really good end to the year for me. I’m really happy about finally finding myself back. I hope to carry through this momentum and the next half of the season can be better.”

Meanwhile, World No.1 Asal finished off a faultless week of squash in impressive fashion, defeating tournament surprise package, No.8 seed Ibrahim, in three games to win the title without dropping a single game.

Asal, who with victory became just the fifth male to defend his Hong Kong Open title, has looked a class above all week long, and the final proved no different, with the top seed winning his third title of the season by an 11-6, 11-8, 11-6 scoreline.

Despite World No.6 Ibrahim more than playing his part in an entertaining final, firing in a number of high-tariff winners throughout the 56-minute encounter, Asal ultimately proved too strong. The 24-year-old showed his mettle to come from 6-3 down to take a crucial second, before moving away from 7-6 in the third to lift the title.

“I’m really happy to play here and I’m really happy to perform,” Asal said after the match.

“I don’t come here to compete – I come here to dominate. Today was an unbelievable performance and Youssef [Ibrahim] is one of my favourites.

“I’m super happy that he’s back, he’s going for titles and the belief in the finals will take him to another level. He’s already on another level and he can beat anyone, all the credit to him.”

FINAL RESULTS

Women’s Final: [3] Nour ElSherbini (EGY) bt [4] Olivia Weaver (USA) 3-0: 11-5, 11-5, 11-7 (32m)

Men’s Final: [1] Mostafa Asal (EGY) bt [8] Youssef Ibrahim (EGY) 3-0: 11-6, 11-8, 11-6 (56m)

Reigning world champions Nour ElSherbini and Mostafa Asal have won the Platinum-level Hong Kong Squash Open titles after

[44
37
post-6919","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-international","tag-squash
["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Squash-ElSherbini-Asal-Trophy_compressed-scaled.jpg",2560,1707,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Squash-ElSherbini-Asal-Trophy_compressed-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Squash-ElSherbini-Asal-Trophy_compressed-300x200.jpg",300,200,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Squash-ElSherbini-Asal-Trophy_compressed-768x512.jpg",640,427,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Squash-ElSherbini-Asal-Trophy_compressed-1024x683.jpg",640,427,true],"1536x1536":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Squash-ElSherbini-Asal-Trophy_compressed-1536x1024.jpg",1536,1024,true],"2048x2048":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Squash-ElSherbini-Asal-Trophy_compressed-2048x1365.jpg",2048,1365,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Squash-ElSherbini-Asal-Trophy_compressed-825x575.jpg",825,575,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Squash-ElSherbini-Asal-Trophy_compressed-590x410.jpg",590,410,true
admin
International
International
0
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Squash-ElSherbini-Asal-Trophy_compressed-scaled.jpg
["GET
