Asia’s representatives have been drawn into a mixed bag of groups in the the FIFA World Cup 2026 following the conclusion of the draw at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 48 teams were drawn into 12 groups for the global showpiece which will take place in Canada, Mexico and the United States on June 11-July 19, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Korea Republic, who will be playing in their 12th Finals, were drawn in Group A together with Mexico, South Africa and the winners from UEFA\u2019s Playoff D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Qatar, the 2022 hosts who qualified on merit for the first time, were pooled in Group B with Canada, the winners from UEFA\u2019s Playoff A and Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Australia will face the United States, Paraguay and the winners of UEFA\u2019s Playoff C in Group D while Japan will take on Netherlands, the winners from UEFA\u2019s Playoff B and Tunisia in Group F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Islamic Republic of Iran were drawn in Group G and will slug it out with Belgium, Egypt and New Zealand in their bid to make the knockout stage for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saudi Arabia\u2019s challenge in Group H will come in the form of Spain, Cabo Verde and Uruguay with the winners of the FIFA Playoff Tournament 2 – which involves Iraq – drawn in Group I with France, Senegal and Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Debutants Jordan were drawn in Group J with reigning champions Argentina, Algeria and Austria while fellow first-time finalists Uzbekistan were placed in Group K together with Portugal, the winners of the FIFA Playoff Tournament 1 and Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The updated World Cup 2026 match schedule will is scheduled to be unveiled later today with venues and kick-off times for all 104 matches confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 12 groups below were drawn in an event conducted by former England captain Rio Ferdinand, with sporting icons Tom Brady, Wayne Gretzky, Aaron Judge and Shaquille O\u2019Neal serving as assistants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kevin Hart, Heidi Klum and Danny Ramirez hosted a star-studded draw show that opened with a spine-tingling performance by Andrea Bocelli and also saw Robbie\u00a0Williams, Nicole\u00a0Scherzinger, Lauryn Hill and the Village People entertain the watching world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The top two teams from each section and eight best third-place teams from the groups will progress to the Round of 32 at World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Six of the 48 teams at World Cup have yet to be determined, and will only be known in March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Four will come from the 16-team UEFA play-offs, which will be contested by Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czechia, Denmark, Italy, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, North Macedonia, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, T\u00fcrkiye, Ukraine and Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other two spots will be contested by six teams – Bolivia, Congo DR, Iraq, Jamaica, New Caledonia and Suriname – at the play-off tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
