Racing ahead to a 9-5 lead, the Japanese duo won two additional points to get payback, the scoreboard now tied at one game apiece.

With the third game favouring the Korean team, the pressure was on match favourites, who were now trailing 1-2 in games.

Displaying masterful precision and speed, the top seeds upped the ante, pulling ahead to an 8-1 point advantage, before a forehand smash from Odo sealed the game 11-4.

With victory in their sights, Odo and Yokoi shot out of the gates in the final game, winning the first three points and prompting a Time-Out call from their Korean opponents.

But Cheonhui-Nayeong’s break proved ineffective, as Odo-Yokoi powered on, producing an unbreakable level of table tennis to lead 10-2.

The Korean pair would save four match points, but at 10-6, Yokoi released a blistering forehand counter-topspin to claim the game, match and title.

<iframe loading="lazy" title="Odo/Yokoi vs Joo/Kim | WD Final | #WTTMuscat 2025" width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/635-tmenyK4?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer;
