The Korean player desperately needed to pull something out of the bag if she was going to survive her rival&#8217;s onslaught.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And she did just that. In a burst of brilliance, the wildcard hit back with added interest, claiming the next three games in a row to boot Yi-Tian from the running, and book her own spot in the Round of 32.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vlada Voronina\u2019s run continued in Muscat, the qualifier having shocked match favourite Jiamuwa Wu with a spotless display, the former winning without dropping a game 11-4, 11-4, 11-7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jiamuwa Wu vs Vlada Voronina | WS R64 | #WTTMuscat 2025\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CoTeZdOfZtQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There were more upsets as Christina Kallberg toppled World No. 58 Fu Yu in a dramatic struggle, winning 11-8, 10-12, 11-6, 11-8. Meanwhile, Yu\u2019s compatriot Jieni Shao followed Voronina\u2019s example, as the Portuguese player defeated Diya Chitale in three straight games 11-8, 13-11, 11-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elizabet Abraamian returned from the brink to upset higher-ranked player Hana Arapovic, winning 11-9, 9-11, 5-11, 12-10, 11-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fans were gripped from the very first point at Sultan Qaboos Sport Complex, with underdog Abraamian taking an early lead, the 22-year-old clinching a tight opening game 11-9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her Croatian opponent would retaliate, however, showcasing breathtaking table tennis to turn the tide of fortune, Arapovic winning the next two in a row to hold a 1-2 game advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It looked over for Abraamian as play progressed in the fourth game, as she now trailed 1-7 in points.
