{"id":6230,"date":"2025-11-19T14:53:36","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T07:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/?p=6230"},"modified":"2025-11-19T14:53:38","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T07:53:38","slug":"cream-of-ju-jitsu-exponents-to-converge-in-siem-reap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/cream-of-ju-jitsu-exponents-to-converge-in-siem-reap\/","title":{"rendered":"Cream of Ju-jitsu exponents to converge in Siem Reap"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The cream of the ju-jitsu exponents from the region will converge in Siem Reap next August to battle for honours at the 5th Southeast Asian Regional Ju-Jitsu Championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will be the first major international Ju-Jitsu Asian Union (JJAU) sanctioned standalone event to be hosted in the Kingdom. Ju-jitsu was one of the sports competed at the biennial SEA Games in Phom Penh two years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection of Cambodia as the hosts was finalized during the Bahrain Asian Youth Games last month and a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the JJAU and the Ju-Jitsu Federation of Cambodia (JJFC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are very proud to have signed this MOU, marking the first major JJAU-sanctioned event to be held in Cambodia. Our previous tournaments, including the Ju-Jitsu competitions at the 32nd SEA Games, were a great success. Panathun and Fahad sealing the deal<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Philippines hosted the fourth edition of the championships in July with Cambodia pinning down nine gold, eight silver, and twelve bronze medals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Southeast Asian Regional Championship has been growing every year \u2013 the last edition in the Philippines welcomed over 500 athletes from across the region.
