China celebrated winning both gold medals on day two of the World Taekwondo Women\u2019s Open Championships in Malabo, with Ma Jingyue victorious in the -49kg category and Yang Qingmei in the -57kg.

FISU World University Games gold medallist Jingyue triumphed in two rounds in the -49kg final against Individual Neutral Athlete Viktoriya Eremina to clinch gold, following on from her impressive three-round win against her compatriot and World Taekwondo Championships bronze medallist Fu Xiaolu in the semi-final. Xiaolu and neutral athlete Irina Rogozina took the bronze medals.

The -57kg final saw Yang Qingmei prevail against neutral athlete Kseniia Zdor to take China\u2019s gold medal tally in Malabo up to three, following Wang Xiaolu’s success in the -53kg class on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qingmei earlier won the deciding round in her semi-final against neutral athlete Kseniia Smirnova, who was joined in third place on the podium another neutral athlete Polina Dzaragazova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The World Taekwondo Women’s Open Championships is the first-ever World Taekwondo promoted event to be held in Equatorial Guinea, and the first edition of the competition to be held on the African continent.
