Three Asian players are in the running for the game’s most prestigious honours, the FIFA Puskas Award and FIFA Marta Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indonesia\u2019s Rizky Ridho, DPR Korea\u2019s Jon Ryong Jong and Australia\u2019s Kyra Cooney-Cross were announced as finalists in their respective categories on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ridho\u2019s nomination stems from his spectacular strike for Persija Jakarta in their Indonesia Liga 1 clash against Arema on 9 March 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defender scored from the halfway line, sending a looping shot over an out of position Arema FC goalkeeper Lucas Frigeri to send the partisan fans into raptures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cooney-Cross earned her nod thanks to a stunning goal in Australia\u2019s 2-1 friendly with Germany on 28 October 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cooney-Cross marked her 50th appearance for Australia with her first goal when she picked up the ball inside the Germans’ half and unleashed a shot from deep to beat the keeper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
