The Thais, who had easily beaten Ca,bodia 62-39 in their clash earlier this week, wrapped up their campaign with an easy 63-43 win over Iran.

Thailand have now qualified for the semi-finals, joining the three Division One teams – Australia, China and Japan.

In their final group match against India, the Sinet An led Cambodian side, were in complete control as they made a massive 61% of their shots at the basket. Sinet An top-scored for the Kingdom with 23 points.

Da Soem and Savry Lak were also in impressive forms as they contributed for 22 and 20 points respectively.

India’s Minakshi Harichandra Jadhav was the only player on her side to notch up double digit figures with 15, but overall they only managed a 21% accuracy upfront.

Cambodia made 39 of their 63 attempts while India were horrendous making only 14 of their 64 attempts.

Cambodia led 20-7 in the first quarter and piled on the pressure in the second to increase the lead to 46-9 at the stroke of halftime. They eased off in the next quarter making only 12 points to India’s 10in the quarter.

But another push in the last quarter- saw Cambodia winning the tie by a 50 points margin.

While it was a fairly impressive campaign, Cambodia will need to regroup for the ASEAN Para Games in Thailand next January.

The Thais had defeated Cambodia twice at the ASEAN Para Games two years ago, winning 49-32 in the group match and 66-26 in the final.

A serious re-look at their whole preparation is needed if Cambodia wants to reverse the fortunes.

The national side had beaten both their other regional rivals – Laos and the Philippines, without much problem. But they will need to improve considerably to upstage Thailand at the biennial Games.

Cambodia ended their campaign at the IWBF Asia Oceania Wheelchair Basketball Championships with a sparkling win over India.

[43,7
281
post-5967","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-national","category-newsbeat","tag-wheelchair-basketball
["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/cambodia.jpg",2048,1536,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/cambodia-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/cambodia-300x225.jpg",300,225,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/cambodia-768x576.jpg",640,480,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/cambodia-1024x768.jpg",640,480,true],"1536x1536":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/cambodia-1536x1152.jpg",1536,1152,true],"2048x2048":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/cambodia.jpg",2048,1536,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/cambodia-825x575.jpg",825,575,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/cambodia-590x410.jpg",590,410,true
admin
National Newsbeat
["GET
