{"id":5421,"date":"2025-10-30T20:42:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T13:42:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/?p=5421"},"modified":"2025-10-30T20:42:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T13:42:09","slug":"dincel-kavurat-moves-up-for-another-title-as-debutant-kosimkhojiev-strikes-gold","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/dincel-kavurat-moves-up-for-another-title-as-debutant-kosimkhojiev-strikes-gold\/","title":{"rendered":"Dincel Kavurat moves up for another title as debutant Kosimkhojiev strikes gold"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s Merve Din\u00e7el Kavurat took the gold in the women\u2019s -53kg weight category at the World Taekwondo championships in Wuxi to add to the -49kg gold she won two years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, Uzbekistan\u2019s Najmiddin Kosimkhojiev took the men\u2019s -74kg gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Din\u00e7el Kavurat\u2019s gold also sealed her country\u2019s place at the top of the medal standings with three gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s third gold was secured through Din\u00e7el Kavurat\u2019s victory over top seeded Dunya Ali Abutaleb of Saudi Arabia in the final, with Egypt\u2019s Jana Khattab and China\u2019s Chuling Zhang taking bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kosimkhojiev won the final match of Wuxi 2025, sealing Uzbekistan\u2019s first gold against Brazil\u2019s Edival Pontes. Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN) Magomed Abdusalamov and Iran\u2019s Amir Sina Bakhtiari earned the bronze medals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Din\u00e7el Kavurat pinched the first round from her opponent, striking with a flurry of late points to win 6-2. She then produced a controlled display in the second, preventing Abutaleb from scoring and winning 2-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Din\u00e7el Kavurat had beaten Olympic bronze medallist Mobina Nematzadeh of Iran in the quarter-finals and the second seed Jana Khattab of Egypt in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the other half of the draw, Abutaleb overcame Zhang in the semi-finals.
