Vuthy Chanton led three other Cambodian &nbsp;exponents through to the quarter-finals of the Muay competition<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vuthy Chanton was up against Bahrain\u2019s Abdulla Sayed Alawi in the boys\u2019 45kg combat Last 16 tie. It was match that see-sawed but eventually went the Cambodian way, winning by the slimmest of margins 29-28. Vutyh will take on Uzbekistan\u2019s Doston Abduvaliev in the quarter-finals today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the boys -51kg, Thorn Chantou &nbsp;got past &nbsp;Thailand\u2019s Sirawich Poommithaworn and will take on Iranian Esmaeil Jafari in the boys\u2019 -51kg quarter-finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the boys\u2019 -57kg round of 16, Khun Dimey was the other Cambodia to chalk up victory as he defeated Filipino Fernando Martin James 29-28. Khun will go up against UAE\u2019s Khaleel Issam in the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the boys\u2019 -60kg round of 16, Hem Mangsrun was also victorious in his bout, He carved out a 30-27 win over China\u2019s Qian Sheng. Ahmad Rayan of Jordan stands in his way in the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the boys\u2019 -54kg round of 32 bout, Visal Chhong earned an inspiring 30-27 victory over Suphak Shanthachaem of Thailand to move into the next round. He will fight Lebanon\u2019s Bahar Din Khodor in the Last 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the girls\u2019 -45kg combat event, Ly Sreynuch was narrowly beaten in her round of 16 bout. She was edged out 26-30 by Thailand\u2019s Chinno Khwanpitcha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elsewhere, Porn Sarapich will open his campaign in the quarter-finals of the boys\u2019 -48kg against Iraqi Abdullah Osamah Hussein while Om Sreypenh will open up in the quarter finals of the girls\u2019 -51kg against Hananeh Taghipoorheidari of Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ATHLETICS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the boys 100m heats, Reth Rayuth finished last in Heat 4 in a time of 12.21 and failed to advance. The heat was won by Chinese Taipei\u2019s Huang Guan Yao, who was timed at 10.79.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BASKETBALL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cambodian 3&#215;3 basketball team lost their opening Group C match 7-21 to Qatar. Heng Serey scored three points for the Cambodian side with Thal Udom and Heng Udom contributing two each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Azan Yakan top scored for the Qatari side with nine points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In their second match, the Cambodian trio overcame Maldives 19-15. It was the Japanese exponent who prevailed with a submission (neck)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also disqualified was Khorn Vichetcahntra in the girls\u2019 45kg Modern MMA quarter-finals in her bout against Filipina Charlie Ratcliff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the boy\u2019s 55kg Modern MMA, also saw exit of Ry Keosomnang in the round of 16.
