Australia topped the medals table at the UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships at the the Rio de Janeiro velodrome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Australia, Great Britain and France each won two UCI world titles on the final day, with gold medals also going to Canada, France, Italy, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ever-popular Daniel Abraham Gebru of the Netherlands set about claiming his first gold medal of the event with an aggressive approach in the Men\u2019s C5 10km scratch race, taking the lap on the field. <\/strong>Fellow Dutchman Martin Van De Pol was next across the line, taking the silver medal, and Carlos Andres Vargas Villanueva of Colombia, claimed the bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n France\u2019s Alexandre L\u00e9aut\u00e9 \u2013 who had retained his C2 1km time trial title on Saturday \u2013 also took the win in the MC2 elimination race, with Hidde Buur of the Netherlands, again taking the silver medal, while Japan\u2019s Shota Kawamoto claimed the bronze medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Men\u2019s C1 sprint finals saw a gold medal for Malaysia\u2019s Mohamad Yusof Hafizi Shaharuddin \u2013 with silver this for Spain\u2019s Ricardo Ten Argiles, who had already taken three gold medals in the previous three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
