As many as five three-set matches sparked excitement among the fans and set the tone for more thrilling action in the days to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In one of these three-setters, Switzerland\u2019s Julian Friedli-Tim Pirmin Amrein overcame the resistance of Kazakhstan\u2019s Klim Ryukhov-Vladislav Mastikhin to get their Pool C campaign underway with a 2-1 (21-11, 19-21, 15-9) victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a really fun game against a more or less unknown team. They gave us a really, really strong fight. I wish them the best for the rest of the tournament,\u201d Friedli said about the match, and continued. \u201cIt is fun to play here in Mexico. The people are so nice and cheering us on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the same pool, the much anticipated clash between 2022 U19 world champions Gustavs Auzins-Kristians Fokerots of Latvia and 2024 U19 world champions Szymon Pietraszek-Jakub Krzeminski ended 2-0 (21-16, 21-19) Latvia\u2019s way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the longest men\u2019s match of the day in Puebla, Czechia\u2019s Vojtech Pavlusek-Vojtech Votava squeezed out a thrilling 2-1 (21-13, 18-21, 16-14) victory over Namibia\u2019s Max Krafft-Jura Krafft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Africans were actually first to reach match point at 14-13 in the tie-breaker, but the Europeans reacted with three in a row to triumph victorious. In the other Pool B game, Norwegian qualifiers Even Aas-Jonah Utvik hammered out a 2-0 (21-16, 21-16) shutout of Poland\u2019s Szymon Beta-Artem Besarab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Pool D, Iran\u2019s Amir Ali Ghaleh Novi-Habib Naseri came back from a set down against Ukrainian qualifiers Dmytro Kozii-Sviatoslav Nahornyi to celebrate a 2-1 (16-21, 21-12, 15-11) victory, while China\u2019s Liu Yuan &amp; Mao Yuan put together a 2-0 (21-18, 21-18) sweep of their game against Argentina\u2019s Marcos Gonzalez-Brais Del Coto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Italian qualifiers Andrea Sanguanini-Matteo Iurisci came back from losing an epic first set against Hungary\u2019s Bence Tari-Akos Veress to mount a 2-1 (24-26, 21-11, 15-9) win in Pool E. Meanwhile, Australia\u2019s Finley Bennett &amp; James Kay mastered a 2-0 (21-15, 21-17) shutout of Morocco\u2019s Abdellatif Ourhdach-Ilyas Karbal in the same pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another three-setter unfolded in Pool A. Canada\u2019s Louis Charbonneau-Henry Heider coped with the tough resistance of Thailand\u2019s Paphawin Manyahong-Wichaya Wisetkan and registered a 2-1 (21-19, 17-21, 15-10) victory, while home favorites Antonio Lares-Carlos Andres Ayala pleased the sell-out crowd on the stands with an emphatic 2-0 (21-16, 21-14) shutout of the lucky losers from the qualifications Casper Willems-lexy Humblet of Belgium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The remaining three pools offered straight-set resolutions in their opening matches. In Pool F, Germany\u2019s Tristan Frobel-Tamo Wust produced a 2-0 (21-17, 21-14) win over Ecuador\u2019s Isaac Jimenez-Alfredo Velez, while Lebanon\u2019s Hadi El Chabib-Jad Abi Karam claimed a 2-0 (21-7, 22-20) victory over El Salvador\u2019s Rafael Vargas-Fernando Ponce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Pool G, Chile\u2019s George Hargreaves-Jose Brain mastered a 2-0 (21-18, 21-16) victory over Paraguay\u2019s Juanangel Gomez-Gaston Armadans, while Brazil\u2019s Joao Mares-Henrique Barros hammered out a 2-0 (21-18, 21-13) sweep of their game against Dominican Republic\u2019s Ramon De Jesus-Melvin De Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Costa Rica\u2019s Julian Araya-Esteban Flores celebrated a 2-0 (21-12, 23-21) win over Egypt\u2019s Abdelrahman Elfeky- Marwan Takyeldeen in Pool H.
