{"id":4603,"date":"2025-10-14T08:18:40","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T01:18:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/?p=4603"},"modified":"2025-10-14T08:18:41","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T01:18:41","slug":"great-opening-day-for-sea-teams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/great-opening-day-for-sea-teams\/","title":{"rendered":"Great opening day for SEA teams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Philippines led from start to demolish Syria 5-0 in their AFC U17 Women\u2019s Asian Cup Qualifiers Group A opener while Malaysia also got off to a winning start, defeating hosts Tajikistan 2-0 in a later tie in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Philippines took the lead as early as the fourth minute with Ariana Enderes starting the move from the centre before converting Chiara Mizzo\u2019s cutback into the bottom left corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She&nbsp; doubled her tally from distance with a curling effort a minute before the half-time whistle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Syria struggled to contain the Southeast Asians in the second half and conceded again in the 50th minute after Kaida Mizzo scored from above the box,&nbsp; her shot looping over Syria keeper Rahaf Nasra with Louraine Evangelista replicating the effort two minutes later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sofhia Muros volleyed home Philippines\u2019 fifth in the 72nd minute after turning in Mizzo\u2019s cross to seal the emphatic victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Tajikistan almost took the lead in the opening minute after Shakhzoda Dzhuraeva slipped the ball neatly to Raikhona Shomurodova, whose lobbed effort was collected by Malaysia keeper Putri Aina Husna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malaysia gradually got into their groove and took the lead in the 16th minute through Nur Laila Syamila, who nodded home Sofia Lacasse\u2019s corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Central Asian side continued to play second fiddle as Malaysia came close five minutes after the restart when Keisha Adeliena weaved past three Tajikistan players before seeing her run into the box cut short by Roza Tojiboeva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tajikistan fell further behind in the 86th minute after conceding a penalty following&nbsp;Mehrnigor Mirzoeva\u2019s foul on Nur Shadrina Johari, with Dishanna Pillay converting from the spot to seal the victory.<br><br>Malaysia next face Syria on Wednesday while Tajikistan will aim to bounce back against the Philippines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lebanon powered to a 9-0 win against Kuwait in their opening Group B tie in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. In the other match, Islamic Republic of Iran toiled to a 2-0 victory against Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indonesia earned a hard-fought 2-0 win against Macau in their Group C match in Yangon Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a goalless first half, Indonesia\u2019s improved performance after the break saw goals from Jazlyn Kayla and Katarina Stalin secure a winning start to their campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indonesia dominated the opening half but found Chong Weng Lam in inspired form as the Macau goalkeeper thwarted attempt after attempt with Nafeeza Ayasha leading the line for the Southeast Asian side.<br><br>Such was Macau\u2019s resilience that Indonesia had to be satisfied with a goalless stalemate heading into the break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The breakthrough eventually came 11 minutes into the second half with Indonesia captain Jazlyn producing the finishing touch.<br><br>Boosted by the goal, Indonesia kept up the pressure and found a second through Katarina on the hour mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hosts Vietnam began their campaign with a dominant 5-0 win against Guam in their Group D tie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Masahiko Okiyama\u2019s side were in total control of the match, scoring twice in the first half before netting three more in the second half to take the victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vietnam put Guam under intense pressure from the opening whistle but the East Asian side were able to fend off the persistent attacks until the 21st minute when a short goal kick saw Hope Hutapea lose possession to Nguyen Thi Minh Anh who fired home from close range.<br><br>The group hosts continued to pile on the pressure and doubled their lead in the 40th minute when Doan Thi Kim Chi&#8217;s cross from the left was teed nicely by Phan Thi Thu Phuong for Thi Minh Anh to smash past a stranded Ahela&#8217; Kaae.<br><br>Vietnam did not let go of their hold on the game and increased their advantage nine minutes into the second half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thi Minh Anh broke through on the right before cutting back for Le Thi Hong Thai who set up Ha Yen Nhi for a sidefooted finish into the top corner.<br><br>Vietnam added the fourth in the 73rd minute with Thi Minh Anh cutting in from the left before firing a shot from the edge of the box that was too hot for Kaae to handle. Thi Hong Thai nodded in the fifth in the 87th minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over in Singapore, Australia opened their campaign in style, cruising to a 22-0 win against Northern Mariana Islands in their Group E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Izabella Rako led the goal rush with four strikes as Australia showed they are the favourites to advance from the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thailand outclassed Turkmenistan 17-0 in their opening Group F tie at home with Pattaramon Saengta leading the way with five goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It took Thailand only five minutes to find the opener, Pattaramon was released in the box to curl a left foot shot into the far corner before Kurisara Limpawanich converted from the penalty spot three minutes later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group hosts added their third through Charlotte Sitiprason in the 16th minute as the floodgates opened up for the Southeast Asian side with Turkmenistan struggling to cope on a wet Chonburi Stadium pitch.<br><br>Further goals came through Kurisara (22nd, 31st, 44th), Charlotte (25th), Monthida Numnuan (27th, 28th) and Pattarmon (42nd) to give Thailand a commanding 10-0 lead at the break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thailand maintained their intensity in the second half with Kawinthida Kikuntod adding to their advantage a minute into the restart followed by Pattaramon completing her hat-trick four minutes later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Defender Arisa Tamsakul got in on the act as well, scoring with a stunning long range effort in the 61st minute with additional goals coming through Pattarawee Boonmala (68th, 79th), Pattaramon (75th, 85th) as Thailand cruised to an impressive opening win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Julan Nongmaithem stole the show as India edged Kyrgyz Republic 2-1 in their Group G opener.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nongmaithem struck the winner in the 90th minute as India laid an early marker on the group, which also includes Uzbekistan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A last gasp goal from Mira Jarrar secured Jordan a 1-1 draw with Bangladesh in their Group H.
