There will also be men\u2019s and women\u2019s awards for an overall World Athlete of the Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A panel of international experts has compiled a long list of nominees for each of the three main award categories. Voting will take place to determine the two finalists in each category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The World Athletics Council\u2019s vote will count for 50% of the result, while the World Athletics Family\u2019s votes and social media votes will each count for 25% of the result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2025 World Athletics Awards also includes the Rising Star awards, Coaching Achievement Award, Woman of the Year, Photograph of the Year, Member Federation Award and President\u2019s Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The nominations reflect some of the standout performances achieved during another memorable year for the sport, which peaked with the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nominees for 2025 Women\u2019s Track Athlete of the Year (in alphabetical order):<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Femke Bol, Netherlands<\/strong><br>\u2022 World and Diamond League 400m hurdles champion<br>\u2022 Undefeated in the 400m hurdles, with the top three performances of the year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Beatrice Chebet, Kenya<\/strong><br>\u2022\u00a0World 5000m and 10,000m champion<br>\u2022 World 5000m record<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, USA<\/strong><br>\u2022 World 100m, 200m and 4x100m champion<br>\u2022 Undefeated in the 100m, with the top five performances of the year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Faith Kipyegon, Kenya<\/strong><br>\u2022 World 1500m champion and 5000m silver<br>\u2022 World 1500m record<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, USA<\/strong><br>\u2022 World 400m and 4x400m champion\u00a0<br>\u2022 Undefeated in 400m and 400m hurdles, with second-fastest 400m of all time<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nominees for 2025 Men\u2019s Track Athlete of the Year (in alphabetical order):<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rai Benjamin, USA<\/strong><br>\u2022 World 400m hurdles champion<br>\u2022 Two of the top three 400m hurdles performances of the year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jimmy Gressier, France<\/strong><br>\u2022 World 10,000m champion and 5000m bronze medallist<br>\u2022 Diamond League 3000m champion<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Noah Lyles, USA<\/strong><br>\u2022 World 200m and 4x100m champion and 100m bronze medallist<br>\u2022 Unbeaten in the 200m, including the Diamond League title<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cordell Tinch, USA<\/strong><br>\u2022 World and Diamond League 110m hurdles champion<br>\u2022 Four of the top six performances of the year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Kenya<\/strong><br>\u2022 World and Diamond League 800m champion<br>\u2022\u00a0Four of the top six performances of the year<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vote to determine the Track Athlete of the Year finalists is now open on World Athletics social media platforms \u2013&nbsp;on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WorldAthletics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Facebook<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/worldathletics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Instagram<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WorldAthletics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X<\/a>.
