A player who has dominated at the very top for a number of years now, the 24-year-old continues to go from strength to strength. Her record in 2025 is nothing short of remarkable, even by the World No.1\u2019s lofty standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Looking to kickstart her season with a bang, there was success right out of the gate as Sun scorched the playing field at the opening WTT Grand Smash event of 2025, powering through the draw at breakneck speed to get her hands on the Singapore Smash title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not one to rest on her laurels, it didn\u2019t take long for ShaSha to strike again, playing in a league of her own at WTT Champions Chongqing<\/a>. Impressive victories over Wang Yidi<\/a> and Chen Xingtong<\/a> in the closing stages of the event put Sun back in the winner\u2019s circle, quickly laying down the marker in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Simply untouchable across those outings in Singapore and Chongqing, Sun couldn\u2019t have timed her return to form any better. Bringing all the confidence and swagger in the world with her to ITTF World Championships Finals 2025, Sun would again prove too hot to handle. The world\u2019s best players lined up one by one looking to dethrone her, but none could live up to the task, crowning Sun as World champion for the second time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There have been a couple of setbacks along the way. A Round of 16 exit to Chen Yi at United States Smash wasn\u2019t in the plan, while a Chen Xingtong masterclass in the title match at WTT Champions Yokohama also gave Sun pause for thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
