Host nation Korea claimed five of the nine gold medals on day two of the Chuncheon World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, enjoying another successful day across the Individual, Pair and Team events.
Dongjun Lee opened the day with gold in the Male Under 30 category, beating Thailand’s Navin Pinthasute in the final. Bronze medals were shared between the USA’s Sung Hyun Eric Gun and the Netherlands’ Joel van der Weide.
Yeon Bu Kim, who is also known within the sport as a Poomsae referee, added gold for Korea in the Female Under 60 category, defeating Spain’s Soo Mi Jo Lee. Bronze medals were shared between Peru’s Marina Garcia Belaunde Velarde and Russia’s Tatiana Parfenenko.
Korea’s Ho Yong Ji, Kwang Ho Park and Woo Young Shin took gold in the Male Team Under 50 event, ahead of Chinese Taipei’s trio of Wei Chieh Chang, Tien Cheng Tsai and Chun Kai Chuang. Bronze medals went to France and Vietnam.
Han Sol Jang made it four golds for the host nation in the Female Over 17 category, overcoming China’s Sitong Lin. Italy’s Valentina Arlotti and Canada’s Rachel Lee earned bronze medals.
Korea’s Hae Sung Lee and Bia Shin rounded off the day for the host nation with victory in the Pair Under 17 event, triumphing over China’s Yimeng Lei and Xinyu Huang, with Mexico and the USA taking bronze.
Great Britain, Chinese Taipei, Mongolia and Spain also struck gold on day two.
Ali Pourtaheri won the Male Over 65 title for Great Britain, winning the final against Denmark’s Jorn Andersen. Bronze medals went to Korea’s Byoung Young Lim and France’s Michel Carron.
Ting Jung Chang took gold for Chinese Taipei in the Female Under 40 category, with silver going to Vietnam’s Tuyet Van Chau. Bronze medals were shared between Hong Kong, China’s Lai Lee Kong and the USA’s Thanh-Van Huynh. Chang\u2019s story is remarkable as she is also a World Taekwondo Standing International Referee, who attended the Wuxi 2025 World Taekwondo Championships and the Taiyuan 2026 World Taekwondo Women’s Open Championships.
Mongolia’s Enkh-Erdene Otgonbayar and Shine-Erdene Tserendejid won gold in the Pair Cadet event ahead of Thailand’s Thasang Kelddang and Jiranut Benzipa, with the USA and Chinese Taipei taking bronze.
Spain’s trio of Antonio Moreno Rodriguez, Jose Maria Prieto Estrada and Joaquin Heredia Pino claimed gold in the day\u2019s other event \u2013 the Male Team Under 60.
