The top seeds regrouped, though, to hit back superbly and take the next two sets 6-3 6-3 for their sixth title this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Brea, 26, said: &#8220;The hardest thing as a player is to start off playing badly and to turn that situation around. That&#8217;s much harder than having a good match like we did yesterday, where everything went smoothly until we had to step up our level a bit, and we did.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Down the bottom half of the draw, Gonz\u00e1lez and Josemar\u00eda only dropped five games in reaching the semi-finals where they faced London P1 victors Claudia Fern\u00e1ndez S\u00e1nchez-Martina Calvo, who had knocked off the seventh seeds in Friday&#8217;s quarter-finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">On Saturday, the second seeds got the crucial break to take the first set 6-4, only for the fourth seeds to raise their game to level it up 6-2. The greater experience of the higher-ranked pair paid off down the stretch, though, as they held their nerve to progress 7-5 in the decider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Triay-Brea were similarly untroubled at the top of the draw, the duo combining to defeat padel legend Alejandra Salazar Bengoechea in her emotional last Madrid contest before she retires from competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Third seeds Ariana S\u00e1nchez Fallada-Andrea Ustero Prieto offered little resistance as well in their last-four clash as the top seeds made it through to another Sunday in a fine 2026 campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Sunday&#8217;s final was another meeting between the world&#8217;s best two pairs with Gonz\u00e1lez-Josemar\u00eda unable to rekindle the winning form that saw them secure five titles in a row early this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Triay, 34, added: &#8220;We&#8217;re so happy right now because after battling for two hours &#8211; or two hours and a bit &#8211; we&#8217;re absolutely delighted to have won here at home in front of our family and the team.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The men&#8217;s draw opened up for Gal\u00e1n-Chingotto on Friday when their big rivals Arturo Coello-Agust\u00edn Tapia were on the wrong end of a shock 7-5 7-6 (7-5) quarter-final defeat to fifth seeds Jorge Nieto-Miguel Yanguas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Meanwhile, the second seeds escaped a three-set thriller against sixth seeds Mart\u00edn Di Nenno-Francisco Navarro &#8211; the duo sneaking through 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-5) after a stirring comeback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Their semi-final against 15th seeds Inigo Jofre-Jairo Bautista was a return to form, the second seeds triumphing 6-3 6-4 to set up a Sunday final against Nieto and Tanguas who carried over their Friday form to dispose of surprise unseeded Argentine pair Gonzalo Alfonso and Valentino Libaak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Sunday&#8217;s final was a chance for Madrid natives Gal\u00e1n-Nieto to play in front of their home fans with Nieto-Yanguas contesting their first final as a pair after winning finals separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Gal\u00e1n-Chingotto were strong right from the outset in a bid to get over their London P1 final loss to Coello and Tapia, the duo combining well at the Movistar Arena to claim the first set 6-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The fifth seeds were in no mood to back down and they levelled up 7-5 in the second, then started the third set well before the second seeds ground them down to win 6-4 in two hours and 43 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">After winning their seventh 2026 title, Gal\u00e1n, 30, said: &#8220;Well, it\u2019s incredible to win it at home after so many years of trying. I think the support from this crowd is incredible.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">With the players now going straight into the Paris Major from September 6-13, Chingotto, 29, added: &#8220;I&#8217;d like to congratulate Mike, Juanjo, his whole team and especially Coqui, because he&#8217;s a fighter, he&#8217;s out if this world &#8211; I&#8217;ve been telling him that.
