With just two rounds and four points-scoring days of competition left to decide who will emerge from the 2026 Hertz FIM Trial World Championship as the new Trial2 champion, the atmosphere is approaching fever pitch, but for one title contender it is very much a case of business as usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spain’s Arnau Farr\u00e9 (Sherco) came on strong towards the end of the 2025 season, but he left it too late to challenge for the championship and despite a double win at the final round had to settle for the bronze medal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This time around, however, he heads into the deciding two rounds \u2013 at Zelhem in the Netherlands this coming weekend (4-6 September) and Pobladura de las Regueras in Spain on 18-20 September \u2013 in pole position with a ten-point lead and every chance of striking gold.
“Yes, the tension is very high,” he admitted. “I try to concentrate on myself, not on others. In the end, I know that if I have a good race I’ll be at the front and that we all end up making a few mistakes, so I try to study the sections carefully and focus a lot on my race and riding. After winning the last two races in 2025, the truth is that inside you feel a bit like one of the title contenders, but I don’t see it as a pressure \u2013 I am aware that there are very good riders and that it is a very difficult category.”
Like so many of his contemporaries, it was through his family that the twenty-eight-year-old from Catalonia first discovered Trial when he received a Beta 50cc automatic for his sixth birthday.\u00a0
“They considered it the least dangerous form of motorcycling. My father enrolled me in courses so I could learn and there we met other people involved in the world of Trial. That’s where it all began.”
Farr\u00e9’s Trial2 journey started in 2014, but three years later \u2013 after climbing to fourth in the rankings \u2013 he opted to move into the premier TrialGP class where he ended the season twelfth with a best finish of eighth coming in Andorra.
“I have very fond memories of that year. I competed with the Spanish Federation for the entire year, we had a great time and we achieved some good results so 2018 held great promise. I had just won the 2017 FIM European Championship and had recently signed a contract that provided me with all the resources I needed to compete at the highest level. Unfortunately, I suffered a serious injury and was sidelined for eight months.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
