World number three Cameron Young carded a record-tying 61 to reach 10 under for the tournament to tie Patrick Cantlay and Patrick Fishburn atop the leaderboard of the Rocket Classic golf tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cameron birdied seven of his first eight holes in the second round and two on his back nine in a bogey-free round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
First-round leader Peter Malnati slipped down the order. He followed career-low 61 with a second-round 71.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Young is in search of a third title of the season, having also won the PLAYERS Championship and the Cadillac Championship earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cantlay, who carded a 64 in the first round, followed up with a 66, as he chases to improve on his second placing here in 2022. The eight-time PGA Tour winner has not been able to win a title since the BMW Championship four years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like Cantlay, Fishburn also fired rounds of 64-66 yo share the lead. Making his third start at the Classic, he is first career win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With rounds of 67 and 64, Matt Wallace (T4\/-9) recorded his best 36-hole score of the season (131).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Making his Rocket Classic debut, 10-time PGA TOUR winner Xander Schauffele (T6\/-8) sits two-shots back through 36-holes as he seeks his first win since the 2025 Baycurrent Classic<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Matt Kuchar (T48\/-4) carded a hole-in-one on the par-3 No. 5, his seventh ace on Tour, tying the most aces on Tour since 2005 with Robert Allenby, Scott Brown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
