Beau Greaves continued her rampant form on the PDC Women\u2019s Series circuit, as she claimed back-to-back titles to kick off the weekend’s action in Wigan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saturday\u2019s Women\u2019s Series double-header saw Events 13 and 14 take place at the Robin Park Leisure Centre, as Greaves returned to winning ways after early exits in Events 11 and 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Greaves opened her account in Saturday\u2019s opening event, as she dispatched of Swedish star Vicky Pruim 5-0 to claim her 56th PDC Women\u2019s Series title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 22-year-old started the day in brilliant fashion, recording a whitewash victory over Beckie Edmeades, before dispatching Women\u2019s World Matchplay hopeful Gemma Hayter in round two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Doncaster-born star then recorded back-to-back whitewash victories over Irish duo Denise Cassidy and Aoife McCormack, before a match-up with Women\u2019s World Matchplay winner Fallon Sherrock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Greaves breezed past Sherrock, beating her English compatriot 5-2, before seeing off Jade Goffard 5-3 to book her place in the Event 13 showpiece against Pruim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pruim\u2019s success was short-lived in the final, as Greaves took the opening leg in 11 darts, before winning the next four in quick succession to seal a whitewash victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The World Youth Championship runner-up continued her dominant form into Event 14, delivering another commanding opening round victory over Jo Andrews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Greaves then produced back-to-back 4-1 victories over English pair Hayter and Wendy Reinstadtler, before dispatching of McCormack for the second time in Wigan this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 22-year-old later averaged over a ton for the first time in the tournament, beating Dutch star Aileen de Graaf to nil to book her place in the final against Karolina Ratajska.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The repeated showdown from Event Nine saw the same outcome occur in Wigan, as Greaves raced to a 5-1 victory over the Pole to claim her 57th PDC Women\u2019s Series title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I love it!” Greaves explained as she spoke about her desire to keep competing on the PDC Women’s Series circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I’ve missed a lot of Development Tours but that’s solely down to the fact I love playing on this circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It’s not because I win a lot, I get to see the girls and I’m getting a lot of enjoyment out of playing the game.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Greaves created another piece of history earlier this year, as she became the first woman to pick up a ProTour title at Players Championship 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I’m really chuffed with how I’ve done on the ProTour so far, I’ve done really well,” she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I need to get rid of the poor games I’ve had. I’m not always going to have those ton-plus averages, you have to take that on the chin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I am enjoying my darts, I’m not going to put too much pressure on myself and I’m just going to keep enjoying it!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The race for the Betfred Women’s World Matchplay draws to a close after play tomorrow, as Pruim’s run to the Event 13 showpiece pushed her into sixth in the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hayter and Deta Hedman – who is not comperting in Wigan this weekend – occupy spots four and five respectively, whilst Rhian O’Sullivan and Kirsi Viinikainen are chased down by Robyn Byrne, Gulliver and Goddard in the final two spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The top eight players on the Women’s Series rankings following Event 16 will feature at the Winter Gardens, with Greaves, Lisa Ashton and Sherrock already assured of their qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
