Peru\u2019s Diego Elias and Egypt\u2019s Hania El Hammamy have won the 2025-26 PSA Squash Tour Finals presented by TWG following thrilling victories over Paul Coll and Sivasangari Subramaniam on finals night at Centquatre-Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
World No.3 Elias has become the first South American to win the PSA Squash Tour Finals after he came from behind to beat World No.2 Coll by a 7-11, 11-4, 11-6, 11-9 scoreline following 82 gripping minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elias had fresher legs after the withdrawal of semi-final opponent Mostafa Asal through illness meant he didn\u2019t take to court yesterday, but it was Coll who started the better of the two as he overturned an early deficit to go a game ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elias\u2019s quality hitting and accuracy saw him come back into the match though and he put three unanswered games on the board to capture his 23rd PSA Squash Tour title and his second of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is my first one here at this tournament, so I\u2019m very happy to have another title,\u201d said Elias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPaul is one of the most physical players and one of the best players in the last 10 years. We used to train together and have played a lot of finals together, we\u2019re really close friends. To share the court again in a final is very special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was trying to not rush it, I knew the ball was bouncy and there were a lot of loose shots, so I had to attack from there and not try and find winners out of nowhere. To finish a match like this was really tough, there was a lot of relief. We both want to kill each other, we\u2019re both at the top of the sport. But I think we both enjoy every match we play against each other.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, World No.1 El Hammamy has won this tournament for the second time after defeating Sivasangari by an 11-6, 10-11, 11-8, 11-8 margin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sivasangari was the first Malaysian to appear in the title decider since the legendary Nicol David in 2012 and tested the Egyptian throughout. However, El Hammamy had the answers she needed in the closing stages to secure the 22nd PSA Squash Tour title of her career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It marks El Hammamy\u2019s seventh title of a season which has seen her establish herself at the summit of the PSA World Rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen I won in 2020, it was during COVID and I beat Nour El Tayeb from 2-0 down, it was such a big win for me,\u201d said El Hammamy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was the underdog then and now I\u2019m being challenged for the World No.1 spot, so it\u2019s a different story. I\u2019m really proud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNow I\u2019m going to start my off season and not think about squash at all, that\u2019s what I need. I\u2019ll be going to the North Coast, Europe, having a lot of food and going to a lot of parties. I\u2019ll have a month off, I need that, and when I had a big off season last summer it helped me get off to a great start.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elias and El Hammamy win $108,000 each for their title wins. The PSA Squash Tour Finals brings the curtain down on the PSA Squash Tour campaign, with the 2026-27 season set to begin in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
