The second seeds from Hong Kong were undone by Wen Ruibo-Yuan Licen, two players who possess immense talent individually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Combining for the first time on the WTT stage, Ruibo-Licen announced themselves as a ruthless doubles team, outclassing Chin Ting-Baldwin 11-9, 13-11, 12-14, 11-2 to blow the men\u2019s doubles title race wide open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, over in the men\u2019s singles draw, No.4 seed Darko Jorgic was halted at the first hurdle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lifting the title just last week at WTT Contender Skopje 2026, back-to-back successes id now out of the picture, defeated by Manav Thakkar 10-12, 11-9, 11-8, 12-10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elsewhere, Xiang Peng and Dimitrij Ovtcharov also encountered opening round setbacks, losing out to Park Gang-hyeon 12-10, 11-6, 11-5 and Lim Jong-hoon 11-6, 8-11, 12-10, 11-4 respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From a Croatian perspective, there was a big win for Hana Arapovic, who opened her women\u2019s singles campaign with a fine display against Chinese opponent Han Feier, winning 7-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arapovic moved through to the last 16, where she meets top seed and title favourite Miwa Harimoto. The Japanese superstar booked her ticket to the second round with a commanding 11-9, 11-7, 11-3 victory over Annett Kaufmann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While many of the seeded entries successfully cleared the first hurdle, there was an unexpected setback for No.6 seed Hana Goda, with her opponent Xiaona Shan enjoying the better of their dramatic five-game tussle 13-11, 5-11, 11-9, 5-11, 11-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
