Every gold medal is special, but the World Climbing Series Prague raised the bar as Sanders became only the third woman to win two disciplines at the same event and Tri Ramadani won gold for Indonesia in a discipline other than Speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
France\u2019s Sandrine Levet and Slovenia\u2019s Janja Garnbret \u2013 who has done it four times \u2013 are now joined by Sanders as double comp winners after the American won the women\u2019s Lead final ahead of South Korea\u2019s Chaehyun Seo and France\u2019s Z\u00e9lia Avezou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Backing up from Boulder last night, Sanders came into the final level with Seo after they both topped the two qualification routes and reached the same point in the semi-final. But in the final Sanders climbed to hold 37 while Seo hit hold 35.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After her win Sanders said: \u201cIt was super fun. The route climber very bouldery which I think suited my style quite a bit. I managed to find the hand hold at the top that led to the crimp that helped me take the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was incredible. I\u2019m really tired. But it was super cool and the crowd was super supportive. Yeah, I\u2019m pretty excited.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also backing up from the Boulder final was Avezou. The French climber just missed the podium last night, but returned to comp action taking a medal this time around with a hold 31+ bronze medal climb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just off the podium in Lead was Austria\u2019s Jessica Pilz on hold 30 ahead of first time finalist, USA\u2019s Ella Fisher who climbed to hold 24+ for fifth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Japan\u2019s Hana Koike was sixth, also on hold 24+, Bulgaria\u2019s Aleksandra Totkova was seventh on hold 18+ and South Korea\u2019s Jain Kim was eighth on hold 14+ as she returned to a final after two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indonesia is no stranger to a gold medal or a World Climbing Series podium, but that is in Speed. Now though, they can add Lead to that list as Tri Ramadani continued the good form he started the competition in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
First after qualification, third after the semi-final, Tri Ramadani whowed what he could do climbing confidently in his ability to move back to the top of the standings by reaching hold 43.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tri Ramadani\u2019s win was no mean feat either as he beat Japan\u2019s Neo Suzuki who took silver and Austria\u2019s climbing legend Jakob Schubert who took bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After his win Tri Ramadani said: \u201cThis is the second final and the first medal for me, so obviously I\u2019m happy and hopefully I can do this weel again next time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was a difficult final especially at the top section. It was a difficult route and definitely made me pumped.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In second for silver, Suzuki climbed to hold 39 and Schubert climbed to hold 37 for his bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Making his own little bit of history last night with four gold medals in a row in men\u2019s Boulder, Sorato Anraku couldn\u2019t quite make any more in Prague missing the chance of his own golden competition double \u2013 the wait goes on, but you feel it\u2019s not too far away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Japanese climber was fourth on hold 34+ ahead of undoubtedly the home favourite, Czechia\u2019s Adam Ondra in fifth on hold 30+.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sixth was Slovenia\u2019s Luka Potocar on hold 30+ while Italy\u2019s Filip Schenk was seventh on hold 29+.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite climbing quite well, Japan\u2019s Satone Yoshida was disappointed to return to the ground to find out that he had been given a score of just 2 after a little double tap of his foot while leaving the ground counted as a fall. No doubt Yoshida will learn from that and will be back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
