The Taiwanese second seeds were forced to retire injured, trailing 15-21, 3-14 to China\u2019s Bao Lijing-Cao Zihan in the women\u2019s doubles first round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Malaysia\u2019s Ong Xin Yee-Carmen Ting, the seventh seeds, also bowed out after a 69-minute encounter against Isyana Syahira Meida-Rinjani Kwinnara Nastine of Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Indonesian pair picked up their third win over the Malaysian duo in five meetings. The 16-21, 21-14, 21-14 win was also their third successive win over Xin Yee-Ting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Japan\u2019s fifth seeded duo Kaho Osawa-Mai Tanabe were also packed off in the opening round. They were beaten 12-21, 21-18, 15-21 by Chinese-Taipei\u2019s Lui Lok Lok in a match that lasted 82-minutes. It was sweet revenge for the Taiwanese duo, who were beaten by Osawa-Tanabe in their only previous meeting at the All-England Open earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the men\u2019s doubles, the newly forged Malaysian pairing of Chia Weijie-Teo Ee Yi sprang a surprise as they came back from losing the opening game to defeat Indonesia\u2019s eighth seeded Muhammad Rian Ardianto-Rahmat Hidayat 20-22, 21-19, 21-11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seventh seeded Hariharan Amsakarunan-M.R. Arjun of India were also shown the exit in the opening round. The pair were beaten 18-21, 20-22 by Taiwan\u2019s Chen Zhi Ray-Lin Yu Chieh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
