After first two rounds of 64 and 67, a third round sputter did not stop Young from building a six stroke lead, getting to 15 under going into the final round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He leads the trio led by by world number one Scottie Scheffler, kim Si-woo and Kristoffer Reitan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 28-year-old Young is seeking his third career PGA Tour victory and second this season, having also claimed the the prestigious Players Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scheffler posted a third-round 69 and has the ability to overcome the huge deficit. He did come back from five strokes behind to win the 2024 Players Championship. And with the weather predicted to be rainy for the final round, anything is possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si-woo, who also carded a third round of 69, will be looking to improve on his three top-3 finishes this season &#8211; T2\/Farmers Insurance Open, T3\/WM Phoenix Open and 3rd\/RBC Heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coming off a career-best runner-up finish at last week\u2019s Zurich Classic with partner Kris Ventura, Tour rookie Reitan was the last man in the field after Jake Knapp withdrew prior to the first round. The Norwegian also carded a third round 69.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michael Kim (11<sup>th<\/sup>\/-6) recorded a 7-under 65, the low round of the day while 13-time Tour winner Jordan Spieth is tied at 5-under. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alex Fitzpatrick, winner of last week\u2019s Zurich Classic with brother Matt is tied-16 at four under with 2016 champion Adam Scott a further stroke behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cink maintains lead<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Stewart Cink holds a three-stroke lead at 15-under 201 at the Regions Tradition in Alabama. He leads World Golf Hall of Fame member Colin Montgomerie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cink carded his worse round of the competition with a 71 after carding rounds of 65s in their previous two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 52-year-old is seeking his fourth win of the 2026 season, having already won the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, Hoag Classic and the Senior PGA Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Montgomerie, 62 is hoping to overhaul Cink and become the oldest winner in Regions Tradition history. He carded the low round of the third round, a 5-under 67.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Champion two years ago, Doug Barron is tied third at 10-under after carding a 3-under 69, He is tied with 11-time PGA TOUR Champions winner Steven Alker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cameron Young remained in full control of the Cadillac Gold Championships despite only carding a 2-under 70.
