{"id":11811,"date":"2026-04-18T09:42:23","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T02:42:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/?p=11811"},"modified":"2026-04-18T09:42:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T02:42:24","slug":"junior-judoka-muhiddin-equally-adept-at-the-seniors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/junior-judoka-muhiddin-equally-adept-at-the-seniors\/","title":{"rendered":"Junior judoka Muhiddin equally adept at the seniors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Reigning world junior champion Muhiddin Asadulloev of Tajikistan is now the Asian Champion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asadulloev claimed the men&#8217;s -73 kg category at the Asian Judo Championships held in Ordos at the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At just 20 years old, Asadulloev is already making a significant mark on the international scene, having claimed his first grand slam victory last year on home soil in Dushanbe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Ordos, he confirmed his status by defeating the experienced Makhmadbek Makhmadbekov of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), winner of the Paris Grand Slam 2026, in the final. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bronze medals were awarded to Kazbek Naguchev of the USA and and Korean Lee Eunkyul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the men&#8217;s -81 kg category, Adilet Almat of Kazakhstan secured gold after overcoming Somon Makhmadbekov of Tajikistan in the final. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The result underlined the strong form of the Tajik team, which will soon welcome the return of the World Judo Tour to Dushanbe. Kazakhstan celebrated further success with Abylaikhan Zhubanazar claiming bronze, alongside Askerbii Gerbekov of Bahrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the women&#8217;s -57 kg, Hyon A Kim of North Korea emerged victorious against Mongolia\u2019s Ariunzaya Terbish, scoring a decisive yuko in golden score. Mina Komiyama of Japan and China&#8217;s Wang Nan completed the podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another North Korean athlete, Song Hui Min, triumphed in the wome&#8217;s -70 kg category, also winning by a yuko in golden score, against Shirinjon Yuldoshovaof Uzbekistan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uzbekistan celebrated a second medal via Khurshida Razzokberdieva, while India earned its first medal of the championships thanks to Inunganbi Takhellambam, a remarkable achievement for the 27-year-old competing at her first continental meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the women&#8217;s -63 kg category, Mongolian Enkhriilen Lkhagvatogoo dominated the field. In the final, she secured victory with an ippon in golden score against Kim Ji Hye of North Korea. The bronze medals went to Kim Jisu of Korea and and Esmigul Kuyulova of Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With one final day of individual competition remaining, the Asian Championships continue to reveal the nations setting the pace in continental judo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the opening day, inn the women&#8217;s -48kg category, Mongolia\u2019s Anudari Jamsran claimed the title against Laziza Haydarova of Uzbekistan, scoring a decisive waza-ari in golden score. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jamsran made a strong impression, securing her first major senior title. She had won the continental cadet title previously, finished as a finalist at the 2024 Cadet World Championships in Lima, and also holds a grand slam title from Dushanbe last season. Host nation China celebrated its first medals of the event through Xinran Hui and Wenna Zhuang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mongolia continued its success in the women&#8217;s -52kg division, where Nandin-Erdene Myagmarsuren defeated Sita Kadamboeva by two yuko scores to one, with the deciding throw coming in golden score. Like Jamsran, Myagmarsuren has secured her first senior continental title, having won the cadet title in 2022. Bronze medals went to Madina Qurbonzoda of Tajikistan and Sachi Ochiai of Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the men\u2019s -60 kg category, Bahrain\u2019s Ruslan Poltoratskii overcame Yang Yung-Wei of Chinese Taipei. At just 20 years old, Poltoratskii captured his first major title with a waza-ari scored via a kata-guruma against the Tokyo 2021 Olympic silver medallist. The podium was completed by Samariddin Kuchkarov of Uzbekistan and Tumenjargal Tuvshintur of Mongolia, in a category featuring 18 competitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the -66 kg division, Tajikistan asserted dominance as Nurali Emomali, silver medallist at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, defeated his teammate Obid Dzhebov by a single yuko in the final.
