He holed a 16-foot birdie putt at the par-3 17th to reach 8 under. The Swede, chasing his first title of the season, leads the duo of Harris English and Viktor Hovland by one stroke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a six- way tie behind the duo at 6-under 65 includes Rickie Fowler, Gary Woodland, Andrew Novak, Michael Brennan, England&#8217;s Matt Fitzpatrick and New Zealand&#8217;s Ryan Fox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eight different countries are represented among the 14 players who sit T10 or better on the leaderboard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In nine starts this season English has finished T30 or better in all but one event, The Players <br>Championship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hovland equaled equals his lowest round at this event; and is one of the seven players with a bogey-free round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is at T20 and has snapped his streak of six consecutive opening round scores of 70 or higher with a 3 under 68.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chi takes lead in Brazil<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andre Chi was 9-under through 17 holes when the first round of the Brazil was suspended due to darkness. When he returns to finish his round, a birdie on the par-5 closing hole at Rio Olympic Golf Course would give him a 10-under 61, tying the course record set by Jonathan De Los Reyes at this event in 2024.<br>\u00a0<br>Americans Dawson Armstrong and Jake Sollon carded rounds of 8-under 63, while five players are T4 at 7-under. Rafael Becker carded a 2-under 69 and is the low Brazilian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Van Arragon tied with Solomon at the front<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caleb Van Arragon and Jacob Solomon are tied atop the Tulum Championship at PGA Riviera Maya after carding six-under 66 rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Van Arragon opened with a bogey-free 6-under 66, highlighted by a hole out from the fairway for eagle on the par-4 11th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He comes into the tournament off his best result of the 2026 campaign with a T4 at the LECOM Suncoast Classic, his first top-10 finish of the season and fifth inside the top 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is also one of three players to make the cut in all eight events of the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour Season, along with Ian Holt and Doc Redman. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solomon carded with seven birdies at Nos. 1, 3, 4, 5, 10, 16, 17 against one bogey at No. 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two-time Korn Ferry Tour winner Roger Sloan is tied third with conditional member Brandon Harkins a further stroke behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Langer and three others head the Seniors <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steve Allan, Miguel Angel Jim\u00e9nez, Brian Gay and World Golf Hall of Fame member Bernhard Langer<br>share the lead after each opening with 6-under 66 at the Senior PGA Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Langer is seeking a record-extending 13th senior major title and 48th win overall on the PGA Tour<br>Champions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Angel Jim\u00e9nez, is also seeking his fourth major title, and his first title since the Kaulig Companies Championship last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for Allan, he has yet to win a major title and is looking to be the first Australian to win the Senior PGA Championship.
