Uzbekistan will next meet 2006 champions China.

Meanwhile, North Korea put on another mesmerising attacking display to see off Korea 5-0 in their concluding Group B tie at the Pathum Thani Stadium.

Uzbekistan’s Asalkhon Aminjonova’s through ball in the opening minute caused a mix-up between Jordan keeper Sajida Issa and Panar Taimur Sham but Etibor Shodiyeva failed to capitalise as she fired wide off the left post.

Uzbekistan’s sustained pressure paid off in the 22nd minute when Mehribon Egamberdieva redirected her deflected effort into the path of Shodiyeva to slot past Issa into the bottom left corner.

Egamberdieva then overcame a challenge from Rama Al khashook en route to setting up their second four minutes later, combining beautifully with Shahnoza Dekanbaeva, who powered into the box before applying a sublime finish.

Jordan tried to reorganise, but Issa’s soft goal kick in the 44th minute was intercepted by Oydinoy Turgunova, who shrugged off her marker before unleashing a curling effort from distance into the top right corner.

The West Asian side began the second half with more intent, as Al Khashook tested Uzbekistan keeper Ezoza Sevinova from distance in the 48th minute before Yasmeen Al Zurikat and Abu Ali Haya both fired wide from inside the box.

Despite their best efforts, Jordan failed to register a shot on target as Uzbekistan added their fourth in the 85th minute with Turgunova connecting beautifully to Egamberdieva’s free-kick with a nutmeg finish past Issa to seal the deserved victory.

North Korea, the defending champions, who closed with a perfect group stage record, will take on Australia in the quarter-finals. Korea Republic, winners in 2004 and 2013, face off against Thailand.

North Korea dominated from the start but were unable to finish in the first 20 minutes, with Pak Ok I’s fumbled fifth-minute shot from distance their only noteworthy attempt.

Korea keeper Kim Chae-been made her first save, albeit an easy one, in the 22nd minute when she got down to collect a tame close-range effort from Jon Il Chong before exerting herself a little more moments later to deny Choe Yon A.

The custodian then made consecutive saves – stretching to collect Choe Rim Jong’s optimistic shot from the left and parrying Choe’s vicious side-footed strike from just outside the six-yard box.

Kim, however, was caught off-position in the 38th minute as Kang Ryu Mi, connecting to a cross from Pak, got in front of her marker to slide the ball past the keeper to give DPR Korea the lead.

The duo then combined again on the dot of half-time – this time Pak volleying home from inside the area off a header from Kang.

The North Korea captain promptly secured her second a minute into added time when she picked up a pass from Ro Un Hyang, outran two defenders and coolly drilled a low shot beyond Kim.

The reigning world champions secured their fourth three minutes into the second half through Pak Il Sim, whose brilliantly-taken corner curled over a lunging Kim and into the bottom left.

Substitute Ho Kyong added to their tally in the 51st minute, tapping home from close range into an empty goalmouth following an inch-perfect cut-back from Kang to complete the emphatic win.

Q-finals
Japan v Vietnam
Venue: Pathum Thani Stadium (Pathum Thani)
Kick-off: Saturday, 16:00 (UTC+7)

China PR v Uzbekistan
Venue: Thammasat Stadium (Thammasat)
Kick-off: Saturday, 20:00 (UTC+7)

DPR Korea v Australia
Venue: Pathum Thani Stadium (Pathum Thani)
Kick-off: Sunday, 16:00 (UTC+7)

Thailand v Korea Republic
Venue: Thammasat Stadium (Thammasat)
Kick-off: Sunday, 20:00 (UTC+7)

Uzbekistan reached the knockout stage for the first time after powering to a 4-0 win over Jordan in

[7
63
post-11427","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-newsbeat","tag-football
["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/stadium-branding.jpeg",938,560,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/stadium-branding-150x150.jpeg",150,150,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/stadium-branding-300x179.jpeg",300,179,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/stadium-branding-768x459.jpeg",640,383,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/stadium-branding.jpeg",640,382,false],"1536x1536":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/stadium-branding.jpeg",938,560,false],"2048x2048":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/stadium-branding.jpeg",938,560,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/stadium-branding-825x560.jpeg",825,560,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/stadium-branding-590x410.jpeg",590,410,true
admin
["GET
